Experience a world apart as you encounter the mountain gorillas, other primates and the colorful cultures in Uganda and Rwanda.
Day 1: Arrival Kigali International Airport
Meet and greet at Kigali International Airport by 1000 shades of Green representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. After a short transfer to your hotel you will be briefed about your mountain gorillas safari adventure. Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have money Changed this day. Dinner and overnight stay at Kigali Serena Hotel (BB).
Day 2: City Tour Kigali – Rwanda
After breakfast, we’ll embark on Kigali City tour. Our guide will drive you to some of the cities sights and monuments and teach you more about Rwanda’s history. The tour will include the deeply moving and very well designed Gisozi Genocide Museum, where more than 250,000 Rwandans who were killed during the 1994 genocide have been buried. There are several parts to the exhibitions, including information about the Rwandan genocide, an exhibit about other genocides around the world and the Children’s Memorial. You will break off for lunch and after lunch; you will be transferred to Ruhengeri town. You will pass through magnificent views of the beautiful, hilly countryside, which gives Rwanda its name as “a country of a thousand hills”. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla view Lodge (B.L.D).
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking
Early morning you will have breakfast at the Lodge and then later be transferred to the Park Headquarters of Parc National des Volcanoes. You will meet your ranger guides here who will briefly guide you on how to behave while in the forest searching for the mountain Gorillas and also will let you know more about their behaviors and ways of life before you set off. After the briefing you will enter into the forest and search for these endangered rare mountain Gorilla species. This is a once a life adventure and an opportunity one should never miss in life. Some time the Terrain is rough and muddy and this means that you as gorilla trekkers, you have to be strong enough and also physically fit. The activity will take like 4 to 6 hours and therefore you are advised to go with your packed lunch. Return back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla view Lodge (B.L.D).
Day 4: Golden Monkey – Fly out to Uganda
Depending on your flight time you can either go golden monkey tracking or trek Dian Fossey’s Grave or visit community projects before transferring to Kigali Airport to catch your flight to Uganda. Our guide will pick you up from the airport and take you at your lodge. Dinner and Overnight at Laico Lake Victoria Hotel Entebbe-B.B.
Day 5: Entebbe – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Meet and greet at 0630hours and our guide will drive you to Entebbe International airport in time for your flight to Queen Elizabeth national park. On arrival, our guide will welcome you and put your luggage in the van. You will be driven at your lodge, check, relax and after lunch you will take an evening game drive. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Kyambura Game Lodge B.L.D.
Day 6: Game and Boat Cruise- Queen Elizabeth
Take a morning game-drive today. Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Game drives in this park, with the massive Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop, provide excellent opportunities to see lion, leopard, and giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephants, De fassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi and bush buck.
The afternoon boat-cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. The birdlife is colorful and abundant. Enjoy a sun- downer while admiring the view before a dinner. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Kyambura Game Lodge B.L.D.
Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking
This morning, track Chimpanzees in Kyambura gorge. Our guide will drive you to the briefing center for briefing and with the rangers you slope down the gorge your chimpanzee sensation trekking experience. Return in the afternoon, jump in the van and drive back at your lodge in time for a hot lunch. Relax at the lodge for the rest of the evening or for a community walk. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Kyambura Game Lodge B.L.D.
Day 8: Departure
After an early breakfast our guide will drive you to Mweya airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. Depending on your flight schedule, you will join our guide for Kampala craft shopping spree. Lunch is not provided on this tour but our guide will take you to some of the amazing restaurants in Kampala.
